  • Shane Vuletich

    Managing Director

    Shane is an economist with over 20 years’ experience designing, managing and delivering major public and private sector consulting projects. He has a balanced skillset that includes technical expertise (analysis, forecasting, market research), strategy, and communication. While his skills transfer easily across sectors, Shane is a recognised expert in the fields of tourism, events, and economic development.

    Innovation is a key driver for Shane, particularly when traditional approaches are delivering sub-optimal outcomes. He combines fresh thinking, experience and technology to produce elegant solutions that are grounded in commercial reality.

    Before founding Fresh Info in 2013, Shane led economics consultancy Covec where he spent a lot of his time developing, improving and managing major tourism research programmes for the New Zealand government.

  • Ameya Rane

    Data Scientist

    Ameya is an experienced economist and data scientist. He has very strong analytical skills which he uses to understand, model and forecast market behaviour across a variety of industries. Ameya has considerable ‘big data’ experience which extends to geospatial, timeseries, and survey data.

    Ameya’s understanding of tourism datasets in New Zealand and Australia is a major asset that enables him to create commercially valuable models and insights. He also has strong coding skills which he uses to build web applications to process, share and visualise data.

    Ameya is passionate about data science and strives to consistently enhance forecasting and data dissemination methods at Fresh Info.

  • Param Kaur

    Research Manager

    Param is an experienced researcher and statistician. She manages all tourism and event-related research at Fresh Info which encompasses the design, management and implementation of online and face-to-face data collection processes, as well as analysis and reporting of data.

    Param has a keen interest in how events deliver social and economic value to their host regions and has played a key role in developing and refining Fresh Info’s world-leading event evaluation methodologies. This includes the development of tools and resources to support our event evaluation system - Event Economics – and MBIE’s event evaluation framework.

  • Alexia Beer

    Senior Consultant

    Alex is an economist with 20 years' experience in economics, law and business. She helps public and private sector organisations understand and measure the economic impacts of proposed courses of action, so that they can make optimal decisions. Her work is characterised by robust technical analysis and a plain English communication style.

    After initially practicing law in New Zealand and the United States, Alex began her consulting career at economics consultancy Covec where she focused on competition and regulatory economics. She then spent several years working for Air New Zealand in its Strategy, Networks & Alliances team, where she developed a sound understanding of the aviation and tourism sectors.

    At Fresh Info Alex draws on her broad experience to help clients make important economic decisions in often complex operating environments.

  • Dr Aaron Schiff


    Aaron is an economist and data scientist with over 15 years’ consulting experience. He has a strong background in regulatory economics and has conducted industry analyses for large organisations like the Commerce Commission, Vodafone and Air New Zealand to reveal how markets work.

    Aaron has a passion for empirical analysis which is increasingly reflected in his consulting projects. He regularly uses data analysis and visualisation, statistical modelling, and economics to solve complex policy and business problems.

    Aaron has extensive experience analysing large geospatial and time-series datasets using R, QGIS, Mapbox, SQL, Excel and machine learning. He is also a highly skilled econometrician and forecaster.

  • Andrea Carboni

    Data Scientist

    Andrea has over 15 years of experience in data management, digital marketing, market research and economic evaluation. Andrea began his career in tourism research at Covec, where he managed the International Visitor Survey, the Business Events Research Programme and the New Zealand Hotel Council's benchmarking programme. He joined Fresh Info in 2019 to design and manage data programmes for the tourism sector.


    Degree in Business and Economics from Bocconi University (Italy).
